This is why thyssenkrupp Aerospace uses an extremely high-pressure waterjet (up to 6,000 bar 87,000psi), mixed with sand and travelling at twice the speed of sound, to cut exact final or near-net shapes. This precision waterjet can cut through all types of metal, from aerospace aluminum sheets to aerospace titanium plates.
The absence of heat in this abrasive waterjet cutting process means there is no risk of thermal damage or microstructural deterioration on the edges of the cut material, both of which are totally unacceptable in aerospace manufacturing.

We offer multi-head cutting options. Two or four identical shapes can be cut simultaneously to save time. This is especially beneficial for customers who have serial production requirements. Our use of nesting software means we can cut free shapes with minimal scrap.
